2007 Tournament Information

RE: District IV Volleyball Tournament

This year the District IV Volleyball Tournament will start on Saturday, October 27.
The semifinal games will be Tuesday, Oct. 30, and the finals will be held Thursday, Nov.
1.
To enter District IV playoffs, a team must have a .500 or better record. No tournament play
or pool play will be considered. The playoff format will be the same as last year, and will
be the best three out of five in head to head competition with rally scoring. One team in AA
and one team in A will advance to the state tournament. Please check the PIAA website for
bracketing information.
If you plan to enter the District tournament, please return the enclosed sheet listing
recommended officials and your indication to enter the tournament no later than October 12.
The team’s record and a team roster should reach me by Friday, Oct.19. Any school close
to .500 will be dealt with day by day. By letting me know that you are in or close, I will
then be able to check with you for daily updates. The seeding will be done on Wednesday,
Oct. 24, after the last scheduled play date. Seeding will be done on the win/loss record
and ties will be broken by looking at first head to head matches, common opponents matches
and then by flipping a coin.
Sites for the playoffs will be determined when we know what schools will be involved.
